Post-production development can be very tedious, but what makes it easier to work through is having a plan. Concepts and ideas are developed from a simple outline which then lead to a script and storyboard. Color themes and mood boards are developed before building or searching for any kind of assets. It’s a strong balance between creativity, design and technical knowledge to develop and tell a great story.

Working hand in hand with the Script Writer on ideas and concepts greatly benefits the script’s development. For this project, some concepts that were later seen to enhance the project would be written into the script during the production process. The collaboration, communication and flexibility to handle changes during the development stage is vital to make the resulting deliverable a success and it’s also what made the “Cigarette vs Vape Smackdown” an award-winning project.

The Breakdown - Should We Meet ?
In a time of remote working and most communication with office co-workers being through video calls, our client requested a video that would offer suggestions for alternate forms of communications that would minimize the need for unnecessary online meetings. After concepts and storyboards are developed, a direction that took advantage of 2D assets in 3D space was used in order to deliver this message.

The Breakdown - Hiding in Plain Sight
“Hiding in Plain Sight” was the first instance we explored traveling in 3D space with camera movements in order to tell a story. From an initial storyboard that told a story about this dark topic on elder abuse, a color palette and mood board was developed with a narrative that would continually move you through open spaces and rooms of an Emergency Room; the most common place in a hospital where elder abuse can be detected.
